Final Reflection
For me, the most formative experience was having to identify all those opportunities. I knew the idea of entrepreneurship to be creating a new product or service, something that people wanted, but I always considered the most important part to be actually creating the product rather than identifying the need. I think that having to look at the world and take notice of all the little things that bug people has opened my eyes to so many different avenues to go down as an entrepreneur. It showed me that entrepreneurship is more than just creating a product that people want, it's about fixing a problem.
I think that I defiantly have a more entrepreneurial mindset and I understand what it means to be an entrepreneur more than before. I think that it's important to see notice more of the world around you and try to solve problems. Also, it takes more than one great idea to be an entrepreneur. It requires a lot of thought and planning to actually create a successful venture. Going into this, I also think that the idea of being your own boss was more appealing to me than actually creating a company. However, I've realized that "being your own boss" doesn't mean that you're free from rules and constraints as you still have to cater to your customer base. Now I think that I'm more drawn to the idea of solving a problem than being my own boss.
For future students, I would recommend just staying on top of all the assignments and actually engaging themselves in each assignment. I think you get the most out of the class by thinking rationally and carrying out every assignment to the fullest. By staying up to date on all the work, you get more out of the class as well because you have time to think rationally about everything instead of just speeding through it so you can get the grade.

Hey there. I hope that you had a good experience with this class like I did. I agree that future students need to stay on top of the assignments. That was the same advice that I gave them. I agree that after taking this class and working through the assignments its a lot more appealing to be my own boss, rather than having to work for someone else. Good luck on exams!
ReplyDeleteI did not even think about including the need on my reflection. Instead of identifying the need, it is better, just as you stated, to make the need. To get your product sold to other consumers, the product has to be made. Also, making the product requires a substantial use of time, which you will be rewarded right after. Good luck on your finals, Morgan!
